Make your own natural Spa products…

If you could find one word for relaxation, health, beauty and pampering - that word would be 'Spa'. Spa products and treatments have become a very popular way to take time out for yourself and to give yourself a little tender loving care. So, if you'd like to find that time to give your body and mind a treat at home, these natural and simple recipes from Aromantic are a great way to get started.

Bath Salts are a wonderful way of reviving and uplifting your spirits as well as cleansing, detoxing, softening and enriching your skin.
While ordinary Sea Salt is cheaper, Dead Sea Salt is the superior choice for healing. Rich in mineral salts, they are famous for their healing and therapeutic properties, which include:
1. helping to relieve aches and pains
2. preventing stiffness after exercising
3. relaxing the muscles
4. acting as an antiseptic
5. increasing the circulation
6. regulating the Ph of the body
7. drawing out impurities

Base Bath Salts Recipe…
Stage 1
100gr Coarse Sea Salt or Dead Sea Salt
Stage 2
50 - 60 drops Essential Oils of your own choice
Method...
Stage 1 Measure the Salt into a bowl
Stage 2 Thoroughly blend in the Essential Oils, place the finished Bath Salt in a clean jar and label. The Salts will keep for 1 year.
How to use your Bath Salts
Add 1 tablespoon to your bath and relax and enjoy.

Exfoliants
Exfoliants remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin and stimulate the growth of soft, healthy and beautiful skin. Exfoliants can be used over the whole body, but care should be taken on the face area as it is more sensitive.
An exfoliant typically consists of Vegetable Oil (not too fatty) such as Thistle Oil, Sesame Seed Oil or Avocado Oil and an Exfoliating Agent such as Dead Sea Salt or kitchen Sea Salt. It is best to use fine Sea Salt as the granules are round and soft and not sharp, unlike rough Sea Salt, which can tear and damage the skin.

Base Exfoliant Recipe
100gr Fine Sea Salt or Dead Sea Salt
40-50 ml Vegetable Oil
Method
Simply blend all the ingredients together. Bottle and label. The Exfoliant will keep for 1 year.

Face Masks
Face Masks will contain different ingredients, depending on the skin type and purpose for which they are used. You may have spots or bad circulation in the skin or your skin type may need moisturising, or a boost of vitamins and minerals. You may have exposed it to too much sun, or stress, or too little sleep, or you may have been ill or have neglected your skin altogether. Face Masks are ideal to use when your skin needs that extra bit of care. They can also be applied to freshen up the skin before going to a party or other event.

Recipe for Cleansing Clay Mask
Stage 1
40ml Lavender Floral Water
35ml Spring Water
75 gr Clay of your own choice
Stage 2
3 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
3 drops Lavender Essential Oil
2 drops Lemon Essential Oil

Method.

Stage 1
Pour the Floral and Spring Water into a bowl and add the drops of Parabens. Sprinkle the Clay powder over and allow it to sink into the water without stirring.

Stage 2
Stirring can begin when the uppermost layer of Clay powder has begun to absorb the water. Thoroughly mix in the other ingredients in at this point. Spoon into a Jar or Tub and label. The Face Mask will keep for 1-2 weeks without a Preservative.

How to use the Cleansing Face Mask
If you have sensitive skin, a small amount of Vegetable Oil can be added to the recipe, or the Face Mask can be applied to dry skin which has been covered with a thin layer of Oil. Wash the Mask off before it is fully dry. Another alternative is to apply the Face Mask to clean skin, which has been moistened with water. If you have normal or oily skin, allow the Face Mask to dry completely before washing off. Grimacing before washing off the Mask is an effective way of removing dead skin cells. It's important to wash your face and moisten your lips before applying the Mask. Wash off after 15 minutes with warm water.
