Thumbs up for Reflexology!

There are scores of wonderfully gifted reflexologists in the UK who are seeking new ways to extend their career and the life of their thumbs!

The thumb of an average reflexologist has to take a considerable amount of pressure and cope with increasing amounts of wear and tear, often causing the thumb joint to swell, or get feelings of discomfort (or even pain).

Another option is Gentle Touch™ Reflexology and this is gaining interest from practitioners and therapists as it provides a way of continuing a rewarding career. This technique offers a great way of maintaining their existing client base and gaining new clients too, whilst working as many or as few hours as desired. Many reflexologists say that after a few years in 'traditional' practice, they cannot do more than a few treatments before the discomfort sets in. This is not the case for everyone, but is significant for those that it affects!

Gentle Touch™ Reflexology is becoming extremely popular for those who wish to work with the fabulous properties of Reflexology, get consistent superb results and also protect the life, function and health of their thumbs. This technique is delightful to both give and receive.
Sue Ricks is a Gentle Touch™ Reflexologist and lecturer and she notes, "Some clients and therapists have been put off reflexology because they have either heard or experienced that it is uncomfortable or even hurts. Gentle Touch™ Reflexology works with the lightest touch and follows some advanced, yet simple, principles. Often the simplest touch with the right knowledge can transform a result."
The treatments are ideal for all those with significant or minor health challenges, the very young or the very old. Babies adore it and often stick their feet out for more! Children settle down and are more relaxed. Adults gain great results that assist their health, recovery, confidence, and relaxation.
It is common for people who are new to Gentle Touch™ Reflexology to think that because it is such a light touch it cannot work, but that could not be more inaccurate. The effects can be life changing for some clients (and practitioners). A client can gain relief from major problems e.g. back pain or migraine, it can assist couples coping with infertility, children with cerebral palsy and so many more situations and conditions

Brenda McClay obtained two reflexology qualifications before discovering Gentle Touch™ Reflexology and says, "It has completely opened up my career options as I felt I did not feel comfortable with the previous techniques that I had learnt. Now I have learnt the philosophy of Gentle Touch™ Reflexology I understand much more about what I am doing and why it works so deeply. My clients all love it and ask for this now!"

Luckily there are lots of different techniques and pressures used on reflexology. The secret is to find the one that suits you and your clients.
