Kinesiology
uses muscle monitoring to ask or communicate directly with
the body's wisdom to establish what you need to be really
healthy and enjoy a sense of wellbeing. |
|
| |
It is based
on the principles of Traditional Chinese medicine and uses
muscle monitoring of the meridian energy flows to identify
if anything is wrong and then assess what to do about the
problem. |
|
| |
The Health
Kinesiology practitioner tends to use just one muscle, in
the arm, as an indicator muscle to monitor the body and decide
where is the best place to intervene in the healing process
for the client. |
| |
The practitioner
invites the client to lie on a couch with their arms by their
side. They will gently hold just below one wrist. Setting
the preferred muscle, the brachioradialis into its testing
position, light pressure is applied to determine its ability
to lock/ stay strong or relax/ become weak. This is the indicator
muscle. While monitoring this muscle, the practitioner will
simultaneously apply light pressure to a reflex point on one
of the main meridians (energy channels running through the
body) with the other hand. |
| |
|
|
If the muscle
in the arm flops when a reflex point is touched it indicates
a weakness in the corresponding meridian, which may represent,
say, the stomach or the liver. Gentle techniques are then
used to bring the body back into harmony with itself. As a
therapy it is simple, safe and effective. |
| |
|
As each client
is unique the HK practitioner will test what procedures to
use, and these could be energy correction factors to create
lasting positive change in the energy system, energy toning
factors to strengthen and enhance existing energy flows and
adjunctive factors which are lifestyle changes the client
needs to make to support the physical body as it goes through
a gentle healing process or for the client's long term wellbeing.

It is suitable
for everyone from the very young to the elderly. It is particularly
good for treating allergies, as it quickly identifies if someone
has intolerance to a substance. A sample of what a person
is thought to be allergic to, say a potato, can be placed
on the skin, and then you check the arm to see if the weakness
is confirmed. Kinesiology involves balancing the body's energies,
which can help to heal a range of problems from a mouth abscess
to insomnia. Glandular Fever may only need one or two sessions
if caught early. More long-term conditions such as Multiple
Sclerosis may benefit from three to five sessions a year. |

There are
many things you can do for yourself to help you stay well.
If you balance your energy system on a regular basis this
will help to keep the energy flowing smoothly. |

| Find the top
of the sternum or breastbone, this is the flat dagger-shaped
bone in the middle of your chest and come down about two inches.
Then tap the bone gently but firmly, move around the bone
making an anti-clockwise circle. This will stimulate the thymus
gland, and switches on the 14 meridians to bring them into
balance. So, you will feel better. |

If you are
feeling stressed, sit down and hold your head in your hands,
with the heel of your hands on your temples. Think about what's
worrying you and this will bring the blood from the back of
your head (the panic zone) to the front of the brain, which
we use to reason with. To find a practitioner in your area
